About Us

Devina Aisha Sharma- Founder/Author

Devina Aisha Sharma Minaret Mountain Books Islamic Children's Books Jummah

Salaam Alaykum! My name is Devina, revert of 10 years, mother of four children living in the beautiful Blue Mountains of Sydney, Australia.

Growing up in Australia in the 90s I couldn't find myself in the media, in toys and dolls and especially not in books. There was a lack of representation for minorities. This was the biggest motivator and reason to bring stories for our children to relate to.

I hope you find your children represented in these stories inshaAllah.

Salaams, my name is Roger!

I was brought up in a very artistic family, where my parents encouraged all roads of creativity. After reverting in year 2000, I had tried many ways to release my inventive and poetic side.

Alhumdulilah, now after four children, I have found a space to tell my stories and share my paintings. My children's imagination and joy for stories has helped inspire many of the illustrations through out the books.

I hope you and your children will enjoy them inshAllah!

One of our favourite books. Great way to introduce the Sunnah of the Prophet saws to young children, through fun rhymes and beautiful illustrations.

Love this books information about Jummah and the quirky, fun illustrations that are throughout the book. My kids loved pointing out amusing things happening on every page.

This book blew me away, I didn't realise how emotional I would get reading it, my son was too young (4yr) at the time to get the gist of the story, so left mid way, but I couldn't put it down!

Considering the times we live in, this is an important book! Children need to know about some of the difficulties faced by other children the illustrations are beautiful.

Such a beautiful representation of one of many immigrant journeys to a chance of a better life. The illustrations are gorgeous and the symbolisms throughout the book are captivating.
